An infrapatellar brace is a firm elasticated tube which goes around the limb under the patella, to change the forces on the patellar tendon.

 

An infrapatellar brace is used for the management of patellar tendinitis (patellar tendinosis/tendinopathy).

Some infrapatellar braces are a single band below the patella, but newer models have a dual action, exerting pressure on the tendons above and below the patella.
