Tissue crushing
The word contusion may refer to both a bruise on the skin, evidenced by discoloration, or a bruise on the bone, evidenced by changes on X-ray, MRI or CT scan. Other soft tissues like muscles and nerves may also be said to be contused if there has been some kind of crushing injury.
