Knee Surgeon

Kristoffer is is a dedicated knee and shoulder surgeon with a strong interest in research. He is associated professor at Copenhagen University, President of the Danish Association for Sports Medicine and member of the Scientific Committee of the Danish Orthopedic Society. Due to a former career as an active sportsman and the experience of tears of the anterior cruciate ligament in both knees, Kristoffer was focused to become a sports surgeon from the start of his career.

Kristoffer completed his medical studies in 2006, finished his surgical training in 2014 and passed the exam as a Certified Sports physician in 2015. Since, he subspecialised in arthroscopic surgery and sports traumatology through Fellowships at Sealand University hospital Koge, Institute for Sports Medicine Copenhagen (ISMC) at Copenhagen University Hospital Bispebjerg and at OthoSport Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, where he was trained in advanced knee surgery by Professor Julian Feller.

Parallel to his training he completed a PhD study entitled ‘Achilles tendon rupture; Assessment of non-operative treatment’ for which he was awarded the price ‘Best PhD of the Year 2014’ by the Danish Orthopedic Society.

Kristoffer is an active researcher leading ongoing projects concerning shoulder, knee and Achilles tendon injuries. He is head of more than 10 ongoing research projects (Link: https://www.hvidovrehospital.dk/sorc-c/projects/Pages/default.aspx), principal supervisor for 4 PhD-students and principal supervisor for 17 young doctors or medical students.
