Re: any advice?
Cycling is good. Any exercise that avoids pounding and gravity are excellent. I love swimming too but shoulders can give problems over time so I have a problem with swimming. I would pick a recumbent cycle rather than an upright one. Its better on your back and hips. You also want to really work you...

Ligmentous Laxity and repeated ACL failures
Hey guys, I am at my wits end here. Maybe someone is reading that will have a suggestion for me. I also posted this to the ACL board. I am 6 months out now from my 3rd ACL revision (four graft overall), and I am virtually positive the graft has failed again. Dr. Bottoni, my trusty surgeon has moved ...

Recurring ACL failure and ligmentous laxity - at wits end

I am 6 months out now from my 3rd ACL revision (four graft overall), and I am virtually positive the graft has failed again. Re: Set-Back... :-(
Oh no! I am so sorry. I had a setback too, but it was related to a staph infection I got after mine. They had to redo my ACL in June after a PLC and ACL in October.
What has your surgeon said was the cause of it? Have you had an MRI to look and see whats going on?

Re: Anterolateral capsule?
I am sorry to hear what has happened. This is exactly what happened to me but my doc told me is was my posterolateral capsule that caused mine to fail TWICE without incident. The first doc was pretty much in tunnel vision mode on my ACL that he didn't see the tears in my PLC. I don't know that there...

Re: Two Days Out -- Needing some encouragement!
Hey -- I never got a chance to chime in.... I hope you are doing great. Glad to hear you are so good at researching the OS thing. You are right, there ARE lots of good OSs out there. Re: Having PLC Recon July 2nd
That you will be SO much happier 4-6 months out??? I had mine in October and am doing great. Well, I can't say that...I just had to have my ACL redone again but thats because I had a staph infection that damaged the ACL....the PLC part is doing GREAT!!!!

Re: NEED HELP--Posterolateral Corner Injury???
Hi Ella, Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. The posterolateral corner is a very unique area and one that most OS's don't understand how to properly diagnose, so its no wonder that the best your doctor could do was come up with "pissy" as an adjective. :-[ If they did MRIs and di...

Re: PLC injury following patella disclocation and surgery???
YES!!! you could have easily done something to your complex. My story is that I tore my ACL and had it reconstructed TWICE later to find out it kept failing because of damage to my PLC during the inital injury. Get it fixed!!!! The doc who finally did my PLC reconstruction said I would have kept los...

Re: Success rates on Posterolateral Corner Reconstructions
I still get a gluey knee sometimes, mostly after excercise. I think it will likely be that way for years. :-( I am still not getting notifications of your posts for some reason so if I don't respond or post for a while know I am not purposely ignoring everyone. Glad to hear everyone is coming along....

Hey guys, somehow I wasn't getting notifications of your posts, but here I am. Hey Scoffs that is awesome that you are running a 5K now!!! How are you doing Hamish? Are you over that bad spell you were having earlier this month? Things are finally good over here. The wound from the infection has hea...

Re: Posterolateral complex questions
The posterolateral complex is different than than the posterolateral ligament. I just had a posterolateral complex reconstruction and nothing was touched on my posterolateral ligament. The complex is a different structure entirely. Sounds like you are ok if they dealt with the "capsule" or...

Re: Success rates on Posterolateral Corner Reconstructions
Hey Hamish, Good luck with your ACL...you may have not noticed I am having a bit of a setback. I have a staph infection in my knee. I was in the hospital for 4 days and they took out a nice big chunk out of my soft tissue. Its pretty gross actually. Hopefully the ACL was preserved but I am not optim...

Re: Reaction to Allograft
Heres the update! I had the screw removed -- it was an infection. They good out a decent size chunk of tissue from my knee and I am on vancomycin. Need a wound vac and the whole nine yards. The moral of this story is, don't screw around with weird post op pain. I am told I am lucky that the staph in...
