Hi Tooyoungforthis
Thank you for the suggestion. As a matter of fact, I was placed on a compounding cream/lotion back in 2011. And I still use it everyday. It has 7 meds in it.

Re: Arthrofibrosis success patient now needing a TKA----in Pennsylvania
Hi Kim! I rarely check in to kneeguru. I couldn't believe I saw your name on this post. You've been a very active person, in spite of your knee history of AF. Now you are seening a TKR in your future. I went to Dr Noyes, if you remember, as a salvage case . My knee was totally damaged from arthrofib...

Re: Malrotation following Intramedullary nailing of oblique fracture of left tibia
Hi Invicta I just saw this posting. You were wondering where I had surgery to correct the malrotation of the nailing of my tib-fib fracture. I live in the U.S. in Kansas. An orthopeadic surgeon there, who specializes in the lower leg, ankle and foot, did my surgery. I also developed arthrofibrosis i...

Re: Knee problems after tibial IM nailing
Hi there I just saw this post because I don't get on the website very often. I had the same thing happen when I broke my tib-fib. I wrote a series of blogs on KNEEguru, which you can find thru the link I am posting . They are all under the "missmyknee" name. Read thru all of them. You will...

Re: Coolief (Cooled Radiofrequency Treatment)
Hi Phoebe I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I can relate to what you are going through. My mother passed away in 2009, I just had ankle fusion surgery and I had to take care of everything. I hope you start to notice some positive results from your nerve ablation procedure. You h...

Re: Coolief (Cooled Radiofrequency Treatment)
Hi Myknee2010 I've pretty much been in a holding pattern....I go to pain management once a month to get 28 injections of spinal Marcaine to neuromas in my knee and down my leg, where I have a long plate and screws, when I shattered my leg in 2000. This also includes a saphenous nerve block and tibia...

Hi RGL
I would be interested to hear about your cooled radio frequency treatment . It's been brought up by my pain management Doctor as a possible treatment to try. Thanks

Re: Dr Noyes for arthrofibrosis
Hi If you put the name, skibum9, in the search box of this website, you will bring up all the posts about her experience with Arthrofibrosis and patella tendon lengthening with Dr Noyes. This was back several years ago. Hers was from fractured patella too. If you make 20 posts, you can try private m...

Re: Can Arthrofibrosis causes wear and tear on the knecap if left untreated!
Yes, scar tissue can cause damage to patella articular cartilage. It depends on how much scar tissue, location and duration. Scar tissue causes limited motion of the knee which causes stress to patella femoral joint. The biggest example of this would be patella Baja and IPCS. Scar tissue in this cas...

Re: Any treatments that work for femoral nerve damage?
You might email Dr Dellon of the institute of peripheral nerve surgery. He is an excellent nerve surgeon. I used him for my problems. My ortho Dr referred me to him. He is located in Baltimore . http://www.dellon.com I emailed him in the beginning , explaining my problem. He answered me in 24 hrs. Pam

Re: Another newbie....stupid arthrofibrosis
Hi scubagirl I'm sorry to hear about your knee. As disappointed as you are, it's good they saw that your knee was getting inflamed and took steps to keep the inflammation down. Drawing fluid off not only decreased the amount in the joint, but it was also probably sent to the lab, to make sure there ...

Re: Another newbie....stupid arthrofibrosis
Hi Scubagirl You can be happy for your gains but ALWAYS keep vigilant about any changes ( such as your increased heat) and report to your PT. They might want to make some adjustments to your rehab by cutting back on number of reps or temporarily eliminating any new exercise that might have been adde...

Re: Another newbie....stupid arthrofibrosis
Hi scubagirl Sounds like you are doing well with ROM. You can never do enough patella mobes thru the day. When you have AF, you can never let your guard down. You might ask if you can use a TENS unit to help fire your VMO and quad contraction. Besides doing patella mobes, quad contraction is very im...

Re: Patella fracture/infection/arthrofibrosis
Hi Patellamess Great to get an update from you and to hear you are still going great! You also remind us that you still have to be diligent maintaining some form of rehab program, to keep ROM and muscle strength. You were lucky to be treated by Dr Cross. Too bad he retired. It left a BIG void in Aus...

Re: Another newbie....stupid arthrofibrosis
Hi scubagirl Glad you are doing well and your pain is under control. Did you have surgery in Vail? If so, they have a top notch rehab center. Keep vigilant about any scar tissue developing, so the doctor can be notified. Do those all important patella mobes several, times a day along with your quad c...
