Re: Does a torn ACL make a clicking noise?

My kneecaps aren't very good and they click, especially on my operated knee. If the clicking comes from the front then it may be kneecap related which is relatively harmless.

Is the pain also at the front of knee or is it a dull ache from inside the knee?

Re: For those knee experts out there here is an MRI of my left knee, is my acl torn?

I agree with snowy. It's impossible to tell from a single tiny image. However, what I can see is your PCL is there and looks ok in my very un-expert opinion, and very possibly there is a stump in the 2nd picture which would indicate a ruptured ACL, but it really is impossible to tell from those two ...

Foot pain 3 years after recon

Hi everyone, I've not been here for a while, I'm nearly 3 years post-op. My knee is pretty good now. Sometimes I still have a bit of nagging in the PLC area and aching, but the MRI came back fine so I'm putting it to the back of my mind. But now I've started having foot problems on the same side. Ha...

Re: Resurrected Post op diary - Problems 14 months on ACLr etc 24/6/08

My knee is feeling boring know. I don't think falling off a horse helped but it didnt seem to do much damage. If anything it got over my fear of falling off after knee surgery, as that was my first time. It was all fine until I put these shoes on. They are one of 3 suitable pairs for knee injured pe...

Re: Resurrected Post op diary - Problems 14 months on ACLr etc 24/6/08

Ive decided to resurrect this after my recent problems. My ACL was fantastic at 1 year post op. Like unbelievably fantastic. Then at 14 months post-op I was wearing a pair of heels that were giving me grief because the strap kept sliding off my heel. The when I walked down stars, I got a sharp pain ...

Good luck with getting results; I will be curious to see the final totals and what the 'other' sports are.
Same here - I landed a flying side kick straight legged.

Good luck with the statistics ;)

PLC specialist recommendations - possible undiagnosed injury?

I'm nearly 15 months post-op from my ACLr and when I saw my OS yesterday, he said I have pain at the top of my fibula where the tendons insert into the bone and said that it's inflamed and started me on treatment. I've got topical anti-inflammatories for 2 weeks, then oral anti-inflamatories. If tha...

Re: Returning to your prefered sports

I was back doing taekwondo and although I had to withdraw from my fight in the regionals at 6 months post-op because I'd pulled my hamstrings, I picked up a silver trophy for my pattern Then I fought in the TAGB english championships and picked up a gold medal at 9 months post op ;D I was still very...

Re: Is my ACL really torn?

I ruptured my ACL skiing in February. I have naturally tight joints and never had the sensation that my knee was giving out at all. (I did have a ton of swelling and pain...) My physical therapist told me that if he hadn't seen the MRI, he would never have guessed that I had no ACL, based on the ti...

Re: Mixed feelings...

Yes, that's perfectly normal in my experience, having done (the right amount of) exercise. If I did too much, I'd definitely know about it the next day. Even a year on, if I didnt exercise it, it didnt feel quite "right", but as long as I exercised it at least once a week it felt absolutel...

Re: Any other problems after hamstring ACL

I don't know where you are, but I'd try and find somewhere that does gait analysis to identify issues in the way you walk and run and where you're compensating etc.

Problems 14 months on - possible PLC

My knee was absolutely fantastic. Like just brilliant. I was back at taekwondo and most of the time, I didn't even know what knee it was. I did stretch my LCL when I did the original injury but it all seemed fine and my OS signed me off. Then a month ago, I got a pain in the outer back of my knee. T...

Time to worry?

It's been a while! My knee has been fabby!I'm 14 months post op and I've been doing everything I did before, but I have to exercise regularly, if not it niggles and doesnt feel quite right, but as long as I exercise regularly it's great. Anyway, yesterday I didnt do anything in particular, but was w...

Medium Knee cryocuff for sale

Medium knee cryocuff and cooler unit. The velcro is no longer as sticky as it could be. If I were going to use it again, I'd sew some velcro onto the straps as that's all it needs to make it stick although it does still stick a bit.

Re: Will ultrasound help?

I had mine done in the UK under private medical insurance, and I had private physio.

I had lots of ultrasound and it was very helpful, espcially for the hamstring.
