Re: Arthrofibrosis Research Being Done Anywhere????

the only thing I can say to you is that you have to do the research and take it to the doctors, If you can get to see Dr Noyes that would be fantastic as he seems to be one of the few that understands the knee processes, I live in South Africa so have a limited number of OS's that even know what AF ...

Re: Arthrofibrosis Research Being Done Anywhere????

Captain Russ AF continues to be a problem but peroneal paralysis in both legs at the moment seems to be a more pressing problem. My right knee which I had TKR done last year seems to be ok regarding AF but left one still does not bend much. I still go to physio weekly sometimes twice to get trigger ...

Re: Arthrofibrosis Research Being Done Anywhere????

Hi Star I have been of the forums for sometime (just got dispondent I suppose) I have read about Botox as a possibility of reducing arthrofibrosis. I am still struggling along as well. Had my right knee done about 10 months ago and developed peroneal palsy in that leg as well. So two foot drop brace...

Re: When to give Up???

Interestingly I have just discovered that I have severely low Vitamin D levels who would have thought possible living in south africa. Apparently this can account for severe pain and myopathy. Wondering if anyone else has been checked for vitamin D levels

Re: artrofibrosis and acrylate allaergy

Hi Star Really sorry that you are struggling so much. I must admit that I had used you a s a beacon of hope in this world of curve balls.. I am trying to pluck up the courage to see OS again as knee has got pretty stiff again. It seems like even the cementless route that you have been through has no...

artrofibrosis and acrylate allaergy

Hi I think it was originally starpolisher who brought up the subject of bone cement allergies and I know that there is a blood test in the states for this allergy. I have taken this concept a step further after having my knee cleaned out about a year ago and am almost back to 10 - 50 degrees rom whi...

Re: FENTANYL PATCHES....

I used Fentynal patches for about 6 months but found I had to keep moving onto stronger and stronger patches to help with the pain. They do supress your breathing if you are not careful and definately made me nauseas and gave me headaches. You also need to wean yourself off them once you have been o...

Re: TTT - OA - Now Foot Drop.......

Hi The nerve test will involve them placiing an electrode above and below the area of suspected damage and sending a mild current through the electrode to see where the blockage in the nerve is. Like me you will probably find that the damage is at the fibula head where the nerve is quite superficial...

Solution for hip pain caused by gait

Hi Does anyone have any answers to trigger point inflammation in the hip and lower back area on the arthrofibrotic knee side, probably due to gait pattern caused by walking with one crutch. Gait is complecated by flexion and foot drop. I have regular physio and dry needling but 1/2 hour after leavin...

Re: Leg support device?

thanks for that advice. I do have a "huggie" for heaating in the microwave at work and home as well as ice packs in the freezer at work and home. I have been thinking that a high density foam cushion cut to the right pattern might help with the correct angle and foot support. Ideas are ver...

Hi I am developing a chronic back and hip problems from sitting in my office chair and not being able to bend my leg (due to arthrofibrosis) to more than 70 degrees. I have tried to elevate it on a box but this tends to make knee really sore. I also have foot drop so I think this creates futher stre...
