Complete rupture of left quad. Surgery performed 2 days ago (2 days after rupture occurred, falling down stairs).
Only given flimsy FOAM knee brace???
I'm in Canada.
I see everyone here were given proper knee braces.
Should I complain and get one, or will the foam brace be enough?
Not supposed to bend knee for 3 months.

Hi - Interesting question - never heard in all these years of a foam brace being fitted - first reaction - would not be strong enough- I would be asking the surgeon - have you seen this type of injury before - a very rare trauma -

The hospitals gave me the foam braces when I ruptured both of mine but I was given the 'good' brace after my first surgery. I would definitely complain as this is an integral tool in your recovery.plshalpmeh wrote: Complete rupture of left quad. I would have a thought the minimum of a plaster cast, which is normal in the UK - How is the knee today?
