Anakinra injection
Anakinra injection
I am seriously thinking of having an Ankinra injection for my arthrofibrosis, has anyone had this before ? Very little information apart from papers on the internet?

There are a few posts on the forum about Anakinra if you pop it into the search function

So my accident was January 2018, I then had full ACL reconstruction both meniscus had split and flipped to the back of my knee, I'd also damaged my MCL and LCL.. Operation was in Feb but I couldn't bend or straighten fully so in April I had another operation to clear scar tissue and an MUA this got me back to walking but the arthrofibrosis was hindering return to pain free life.
I'll log my progress here but already today after sleeping I can
Straighten my knee without pain and can now straighten fully there was an 8 degree flex prior to the injection yesterday. I'll continue to log my progress but so far thrilled with the impact.

Hi Lynn,
That's fantastic that you've had a good response to anakinra so far!! Your update is extremely valuable to the AF community, I can't thank you enough for posting it!
I hope your knee keeps improving. That was a serious accident

Re: Anakinra injection
Just an update since my Anakinra injection on August 19th 2019. I am now totally pain free day to day, can walk without clunking clicking or locking, no pain what so ever. I can also stand after sleeping or sitting down with just a tiny bit of stiffness but nothing like the stiffness before the injection, where I had to literally push my leg straight.
I am back running 4 miles a day, well jogging and it is almost without pain, I actually think most of the discomfort is in my head now. So I am so pleased I invested in the injection and that I trusted Mr Glynn Evans, he has quite literally changed my life.
Happy to take any questions or offer and help I can. One happy person.

Re: Anakinra injection
Wow, that is really helpful to know, thanks a lot for posting your fantastic outcome!! It seems that Anakinra can be a cure for AF, at least if it is caught early.
Can you tell us how long you had AF for, and how long it is since your last surgery? That would be useful knowledge for others.
Please be careful not to push too hard with running etc, AF can come back if enough inflammation is caused.
Thanks again,
Kay

So my arthrofibrosis was realitively new started April 2018 ish, and all research in to Anakinra injection points to being successful in mild to moderate arthrobibrosis
I can highly recommend Mr Evans though

Re: Anakinra injection
I know this is a very old thread, but on the off chance that people are still on the forum from time to time, have those of you who had the Anakinra injections (@tomtom67, @limplylynn) continued to have good results?
Anyone else (@dogfacedgirl) heard any more about it?
Thanks in advance for any information you might have.
I have severe AF and am out of options.

Re: Anakinra injection
I am sorry you have had no responses. A previous academic contributor on KNEEguru, Sebastiano Nutarelli, has set up this organisation in Switzerland - https://www.eukafcenter.ch/ and to which I am giving you the link in case their people can give you some insight into the use of Anakinra...
