The meniscofibular ligament attaches the back of the lateral meniscus to the fibular bone.

Anatomy of the meniscofibular ligament

The meniscofibular ligament is a short capsular ligament of the lateral meniscus reaching between the back of the lateral meniscus and the upper end of the fibula.

It helps to stabilise the lateral meniscus.

The meniscofibular ligament...."is believed to position the lateral meniscus and therefore to play a key role in the knee joint"
