Non-isometric

Non-isometric in the context of a ligament means that the length of the ligament cannot be maintained throughout the range of motion of the joint.

Ligament grafts

In the knee world, the term usually applies to cruciate ligament grafts. Such a graft might be too loose when the knee is bent and too tight when the knee is straightened.
