Re: Bicompartmental knee replacement

Hey guys: So, here's a thought about the numbness... atleast it doesn't hurt, YAY!!! ;D Somtimes wish the inside felt as numb as the outside and life would be great. It is a funky sensation, though. I've just gotten used to it. Now, the over-sensitivity thing is a whole other ballgame. Ewww!! :P Sur...

Re: Got a second opinion on my knee - should I seek a third?

Hey Francine: I'll bet you would really love another Vegas trip soon, it sounds like oodles of fun. My mom is at the casino today in Detroit with the her gamblin' buddy. They took the bus. She likes it so much she plays games on the net just for fun, LOL! Re: biofreeze, it works like mineral ice wou...

Re: Bicompartmental knee replacement

Hey guys: Well, I'm not sure about all of the superficial numbness going away altogether. I've had 2 open knee surgeries with the last one being 12 months ago. I still have alot of numbness in the lateral area, over the scar, and around the quad tendon area. I've accidently bumped/scratched it and f...

Re: Arthrosurface Hemi Cap Post Op

Hey guys: ;D I'm on the upper end finally from that nasty PT session Thurs. Talk about wanting to knock someone's lights out.... Grrr! >:( I'm gonna take Dig's lead and do some things my own way, it's my knee right? ;) If all else fails, we can protest, LOL! Bring our reading materials (newspaper, b...

Re: ChrisMancini's Pre/Post Op TKA Diary

Hey Chris: ;D I was just thinkin' about you and your new parts... seems you've been testing them out. Good for you!! Doesn't it just feel great to have the independence of driving again. It took me many, many months to get there cause the knee wouldn't bend much and it killed to just let it dangle i...

Re: pfs...or kneecap sunke into joints?

Hi David: ;D Even though our knee problems are from different things, I have HORRIBLE pain behind my kneecap when I tighten my quads, even with just sitting with the leg extended. Yes, my quads are quite weak, but I've been beating my head against a wall to get them back since 7/07 to no avail.. the...

Re: Torn cartilage surgery for son

Hey Diggersmom: Yes, my kneecap was a near save. Fortunately, it healed anyway. My OS was worried but, I'm in my 30's and like to think I still have some of the benefits of youth with healing, LOL! I was in an accident and nose-dived into a deep ditch. It was REALLY foggy so, I didn't see it coming....

Re: Got a second opinion on my knee - should I seek a third?

Hey Francine: WOW! That's good news with your PT on the SLR's!!! So, you really are making progress and that's good so, I hope they let you keep going and increasing those weights!! I couldn't imagine that with the pain in just simply tightening up the muscles with it.... I see stars!!! :o I think t...

Re: Torn cartilage surgery for son

Hi Diggersmom: I'm glad he's feeling a bit better now. Maybe the screw removal won't be as bad is repairing the inital injury. Hope he does really well and can get back to what he enjoys doing!! My first surgery was horrendous!! That was the ORIF, open reduction, internal fixation for a severely com...

Re: lateral release/vmo imbrication/R.S.D. recovery frustration!!!

Hey Karen: ;D WOW! :o You've been through this bad knee business for a long, long time. Major kudos to you!! My kid has had his knee problems for 6 years now, too. No injury, no sports, just bad growing stuff and alta (sits too high) in the right knee which makes his leg shorter and flat feet. So, h...

Re: Got a second opinion on my knee - should I seek a third?

Hey Francine: ;D So, you got my letter, aye? ;) Yes, that nasty ole kneecap is a side-view. Betcha said :o just like Bob! Actually, that looks better but, it's what I'm going to have for good now. You're right, all the PT in the world can't fix permanent damage. Sorry if there's typos here, my keybo...

Re: Farrah's Fulkerson Osteotomy Jan 8

Hi Farrah: Sorry to hear your bad pain news.... maybe you should go ahead and call the nurse back first. I know this is post-op stuff but, maybe there is something that can be temp. added to your meds as an adjuvant? Just a thought.... my morphine pump didn't even touch my post-ORIF pain along with ...

Re: Could I have arthrofibrosis?

Hi Janet: I am going to shoot you an e-mail, I'll send the one the doc sent back to me, too. It's pretty interesting and I am hopeful. ;D Dale went hard core on me, guess that's the only way he's figured I haven't tried since the first PT in the beginning. He says to expect more next time!!! UGH! I ...

Re: New to the "Club" - broken patella and quadriceps damage

Hi Dallen: ;D I survived the first PT session with the new guy... he's gone mad hard core on me and man, did it ever HURT!! He said there's more to come!!! I want my other one back. He was keeping the exercises in my comfort zone, this sucks!! Gonna give it my best shot, though. He said I did well t...

Re: Bicompartmental knee replacement

Hi Caroline: Happy Halloween to you!! ;D Sorry you have an evil PT, too. I want my other one back, he rocks!!! He keeps everything in my comfort zone. No matter what the knee always hurts worse after. This new guy killed it though. I just ditched the PT bending/stretching me to do it myself.... fina...
