Getting safe (non-burning) sun exposure is important for everyone's health, but it could be particularly helpful for people with arthrofibrosis.

Research indicates that getting outdoors in the early post-operative period is likely to be important for helping the body to control the inflammatory and fibrotic responses and preventing inflammatory feedback effects becoming established. For people with long-term arthrofibrosis getting daily sunlight outdoors could be considered as an additive to anti-inflammatory medications for controlling symptoms.

The beneficial effects of sunlight may be why many people with joint disease report that their symptoms improve in the summer months.
