The Thessaly test assesses the integrity of the knee meniscus.

The patient stands with both feel flat on the floor. An assistant holds the patient's hands to stabilise them. the patient bends one knee a little bit and the other is bent to 90 degrees. While the patient is supported the body is slowly swung left and right, to put twist on the joint of the standing knee.
