Adductor

An adductor is a muscle which, when contracted, 'adducts' the limb, bringing it closer to the midline.

Strengthening the hip adductors helps to stabilise both the hip and the knee.

The main hip adductor muscles include:

  • adductor brevis
  • adductor longus
  • adductor magnus
  • pectineus
  • gracilis
